One of the three tiger hunters allegedly involved in Thursday's night's gun battle in the eastern section of Thungyai Naresuan in Tak's Umphang district, which resulted in the deaths of two forest rangers, surrendered to the authority yesterday. Officials

A source reported yesterday that following the deadly gunfight that also resulted to one hunter’s death, the authorities managed to arrest Hmong hunter Khaneung Saema, who denied he had fired at any official. Another suspect Jeu Saema surrendered to officials later yesterday.
Meanwhile, the funerals for slain rangers Boonsri Inthapanya, 51, and Anthong Ngamying, 22 were held at Wat Panitniramon in Umphang district. National Park, Wildlife and Plant Conservation Department deputy chief Sermyos Somman visited the slain officials’ families and planned to inspect the clash scene and follow through on the search for the hunters.
