Charter change petition based on Article 154 rejected
The Constitution Court on Wednesday ruled to reject the opposition's two petitions, both of which cited Article 154 to question the charter amendment bill.
The court said the petitions did not merit the judicial review because Article 154 had no bearing on amending the charter.
The ruling means the charter court would only review cases based on Article 68. The opposition contends charter change on filling senatorial seats has been designed to overthrow the political system.
