Public health minister says doctors can express political opinions

Public Health Minister Pradit Sinthawanarong said Monday that it is not wrong for doctors to express their political stand.

Pradit was commenting on reports that a group of rural doctors in seven lower southern provinces has issued a statement against the amnesty bill and urged all community hospitals to express their opposition to the bill.
But he said the opposition must not be expressed inside official offices or state hospitals.
Pradit said it was fine for doctors to express their personal stand or stand of their private groups.
