	Archbiship Louis Chamniern Santisukniran said the Supreme Partiarch was a good ambassador and helped build a link between Buddhism and other religions in Thailand.</div>

Pope sends his condolences after passing of top monk

The late Supreme Patriarch was the people's monk and his passing away is a great loss to the Thai society, Pope Francis said in his letter of condolence presented yesterday to Somdej Phra Wannarat, acting abbot of Wat Bovoranives.
