Violence against women must stop

Violence against women must stop

Social Development and Human Security Minister Pavena Hongsakul has urged all Thais to join "International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women", when it is celebrated this month on November 25.

In the weekly TV broadcast “Yingluck Government Meets the Public”, she said tomorrow, a campaign will be launched at Thupatemee Stadium in Bangkok, chaired by Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, and aimed at raising awareness of violence against women in Thai society. Another big event will follow on November 25, the globally celebrated international day, as designated by the United Nations General Assembly.
“We call for the elimination of violence to women 365 days of the year. Everyone must respect each other,” Pavena said.
