Protest guards accused of attack on policeman
Anti-government protester guards assaulted a policeman who was reportedly gathering intelligence about the protest at Bangkok's Rajadamnoen Nok area, Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) spokesman Pol Maj Gen Piya Uthayo said yesterday
Senior Sgt Major Sunthorn Meenongyai sustained bruises and a broken nose in the attack, which took place around 10pm on Tuesday, but his fellow officers managed to negotiate his release and rushed him to Police General Hospital at 2am yesterday, Piya said. Nang Lerng police are investigating the incident and will take legal action, he added.
