Individual stock traders sell, buy less for fear of political uncertainty

She added that the trading transactions of the individual investors account for 45 per cent of total daily trading value in the stock market, down from 57 per cent last year. But there is still no big change in the trading activities of foreign investors and local and foreign institutional investors.
This year the SET targets to boost the number of stock trading accounts of existing investors by additional 50,000 accounts and those of new investors by 70,000. If the target is met, the total trading accounts will surge to 1.1 million at the end of this year from 980,000 at the present.
The SET will focus on expanding the number of stock investors in the provinces. The number of stock investors in the provinces is expected to surge to account for 25 per cent of total accounts within next two years from the present 19 per cent.
