Two injured in Southern bomb explosions

Two injured in Southern bomb explosions

A Narathiwat villager was injured when a bomb buried under garbage exploded on Wednesday while a Pattani soldier was wounded by an explosion while removing a banner slamming the Thai Army.

The homemade bomb hidden in garbage went off at 9am in tambon Taporyor of Yi Ngor district and injured 47-year-old villager Ma Saraemae.
Police found a Thai-language leaflet saying “Do you deserve to be Siamese soldiers after shooting innocent people?” at the scene.
Police suspect that the bomb was targeting special taskforce soldiers who pass the spot on daily basis.
In Pattani’s Ma Yor district, Sergeant Chaisit Yingdamnoon, 29, sustained a slight leg injury when a bomb exploded in tambon Thanon while he was removing a roadside banner signed by “Patoni warriors”, which slammed Thai army and called for the army to move out of the region. Another two bombs were found nearby but were safely defused.
Panich said the occupational safety officer would also be questioned as to why he didn’t inform the employer to formulate and submit this plan. This case has also prompted DLPW to improve the occupational safety officers’ standard nation-wide.
The authority will use the Occupational Safety, Health and Environment Act 2011’s ministerial regulation to set punishments and quality criteria for occupational safety officers, as well as changing the officers’ licence term from lifelong to up to five years.
