NPKC prohibits deployments of armed officials and weapons
The National Peacekeeping Committee prohibited deployments of armed officials and their weapons without authorisation of the NPKC.
The prohibition was aimed at military officials, police, defence volunteers and other officials who are armed.
The prohibition was part of the coup announcement read on TVs by Army chief Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha.
