Military Court approves Sombat's detention

Military Court on Thursday approved further detention of red-shirt activist Sombat Boonngamanong at the Bangkok Remand Prison for 12 days.

The period is from Thursday to June 23. It was an extension from the 7-day period that Sombat was held in military custody under the provision of the martial law after his arrest last Thursday.
Sombat told the court that he objected the military's detention request, saying he had been cooperative with the officials and he had promised not to incite unrest. He added that he had to take care of his daughter as well.
Sombat faces the charges of inciting unrest via the Internet and failing to report to the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) as ordered.
