Veera thanks all who helped in securing his freedom

Veera Somkwamkid, a yellow-shirt activist, who has just freed from a Cambodian prison said on Wednesday that he intended to continue his anti-corruption campaign.

Veera was granted a royal pardon by Cambodia’s King Norodom Sihamoni after being sentenced to eight years in jail for espionage in Cambodia in 2011.
The release, which came as a surprise, was announced during a meeting between Cambodia’s Prime Minister Hun Sen and acting Thai foreign minister Sihasak Puangketkaew yesterday in Phnom Penh.
Veera, who will return to Thailand today with Sihasak, said he wished to thank all parties for their efforts to help him.
He told reporters that he still faced many charges in Thailand so will not do anything upon returning home. However, he intended to continue his fight against corruption.
