Similar bombs used in two Yala attacks

The bomb used in the Tuesday attack that killed two volunteer rangers and seriously wounded another in Yala's Yaha district was similar to the one used on August 4, also in Yaha, which killed two rangers, a source at the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD)

Police suspect that a group of insurgents, led by Hubaideela Rommeulee and Saudi Satapor, was behind the attacks.
The Tuesday bombing took place at 4.30pm behind Samakkhee School in tambon Patae, killing volunteer rangers Prakasit Rakphan and Chatchai Lohithan, and injuring Thawee Faipesat. The three men were patrolling the school area to provide security.
Once the bathing ceremony is completed at a temple in Muang Yala district, Prakasit and Chatchai’s bodies will be sent to their home provinces of Prachuap Khiri Khan and Ubon Ratchathani respectively.
