Two fatal shootings in far South
Two separate shootings in Pattani province on Sunday night left one dead and another person injured. Police were investigating the two incidents, to see if they stemmed from the insurgency or from a personal conflict.
In tambon Trohbon in Sai Buri district, Masaho Jehtae, 37, was fatally shot while riding a motorcycle home, Sai Buri superintendant Pol Colonel Panya Kharawanant said. In tambon Khlong Mai in Yarang district, Maruyee Yeng, 48, was shot in the leg and arm while riding a motorbike home with friend Mahama-adeu-anan Waelhong, who was hurt falling off the bike during the shooting.
Earlier on Sunday evening, Ban Tibu assistant headman Abdullohmae Dimuleh, 37, was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle in Raman district in Yala while the victim was drinking tea at a grocery shop.
