Chinese police arrest 30,000 in crackdown on online porn, gambling
Bangkok (dpa) - More than 30,000 people have been arrested in China's southern Guangdong province during a two-month crackdown on online gambling and porn, news reports said Monday.
Police had arrested 3,014 people as of December 15, and more than 5,000 others were under criminal detention, Xinhua reported, citing the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department.
An online gambling ring in Huizhou City with activities involving around 30 million yuan was busted on November 24, Xinua said.
