More complaints channels to open : Panadda

More channels will be opened to accept complaints from the Thai public in light of the success of the complaints centres in resolving peoples' problems in the past six months, PM's Office Minister Panadda Diskul said on Tuesday.

The government set up the complaint centre in Bangkok while the Interior Ministry introduced the Damrongtham centres nationwide to receive complaints from the public.
Panadda said the government would open more channels for complaints from the public this year including a cellphone application, new centres in community areas and counter services at shopping malls.
The National Council for Peace and Order has received altogether 111,399 complaints and helped to solve 90.2 per cent of them, he said.
The rest of the complaints mostly involved debts outside of legal institutions and narcotics.
Panadda said the government is satisfied with its performances in helping solve problems for the people. Personnel from 20 ministries are posted at the centres to accept public complaints. Problems already solved were 3.2 times higher than during the corresponding period last year, he said.
