Woman killed while riding fallen freight elevator of Ratchaburi temple
A woman was killed after she tried to ride a freight elevator of the Nong Hoi temple atop a mountain in Ratchaburi Muang district but its main cable broke off, sending it to plunge down.
Police said the accident happened at 10 am. Temple staffs told police that the elevator was used for transporting foods to the temple only but Sawittree Plookboonsong, 28, who appeared to weigh more than 100 kilogrammes, begged to use it because she could not walk up the stairway. The elevator fell from the third floor to the second floor, killing the woman.
