No decision yet on telecom excise tax
Excise Department director-general Somchai Poolsavasdi said Wednesday that the department has yet to decide if it will impose excise tax on telecom businesses, pending the final study by assigned local institutes on whether such a tax will affect consumer
Currently, the telecom business is subject to a ceiling of 50 per cent excise rate but the effective rate is zero. He added that the department has no plan to change the rate at the moment.
