Naresuan Uni researchers win awards

Five researchers from Naresuan University were awarded prizes at the 43rd International Exhibition of Invention of Geneva that was recently held at the National Research Council of Thailand in Bangkok.

 
The event was sponsored by the NRCT as a showcase for Thai researchers’ potential and inventions.
Research prize winners from Naresuan University were Miss Watchara Keawmahanin, a lecturer from the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, who received a gold medal for her research entitled “Early Detected Device Vein Thrombosis”.
She was also awarded a special prize from South Korea.
Assist Prof Pupong Pongcharoen, from the Engineering Faculty, received gold for developing a computer aided tool for packing containers. 
Assist Prof Dr Puntarika Ratanatriwong and Dr Jareer Mansour Abu-Ali, of the Asean-America Industrial Food Consulting Centre and the Faculty of Agriculture Natural Resources and Environment, won silver medals for inventing a product known as Spicy-Aid.
The product reduces the mouth-burning sensation associated with the consumption of spicy food and foods containing capsaicin. 
Assist Prof Dr Suwanna Thawornrungrote and researchers from the Faculty of Allied Health Science were won an award for developing The Application used for Asking for Help.
The team of prize-winning researchers was led by Assist Prof Pupong Pongcharoen in his capacity as vice president for research at Naresuan University.
