Revenue target to be missed

Revenue target to be missed

Revenue Department Director-General Prasong Poontaneat revealed Monday that the government revenue may fall short of target by Bt140 billion this fiscal year.

After a meeting with revenue officers nationwide today, he said that low oil prices and slowing economic recovery will result in lower-than-expected revenue collection, particularly from oil-related businesses. Revenue from the sector alone would be about Bt100 billion lower than expected. Meanwhile, corporate tax should also be about Bt40 billion below target in line with economic condition.
