Man, 22, held over murder

Man, 22, held over murder

As a suspect, allegedly involved in the May 30 murder of Rangsit University student Arthit Saisalang in Pathum Thani's Muang district, was brought to re-enact the crime yesterday, Provincial Police Region 1 deputy chief Pol Maj Gen Sanit Mahathaworn urged

He also urged youngsters not to get drunk and instructed all venues for entertainment in Muang Ek in Pathum Thani to strictly abide by the legal closing time, warning they could have their licence revoked if they break the law.
Following the attack, which also saw Arthit’s friend Suwin Pathummet sustain stab wounds, police arrested Weera Sriphong, 22, who allegedly identified the victims for attack, at his home in Sai Mai in Bangkok.
Weera was brought to re-enact the crime while 50 police provided security amid many onlookers. Weera claimed that he and friends attacked Arthit and Suwin because they had visited a club four times before and each time a group of youngsters had looked at them in an aggressive way.
So, his group was unhappy and had pursued the rival group on their bikes. He claimed he told two friends they were pursuing the wrong people but the two wouldn’t listen.
His friend Poonsak Saokaew shot Arthit, while another friend, Rachen Nisap, had stabbed Suwin, Weera alleged.
