	The agreement was signed today by the foreign ministers of both countries - Gen Tanasak Patimapragorn and Wunna Maung Lwin, after the 8th Myanmar-Thailand Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation. The two-day meeting in Chiang Mai was concluded today.&nbsp;</div>

	Both countries believe that this agreement would enhance connectivity and facilitate the travelling of their citizens.</div>

		The visa waiver applies only to those who travel by air. It allows a 14-day stay.&nbsp;</div>

		Myanmar is the last country in Asean to waive visa requirements for Thai visitors.</div>

		Both ministers also agreed to boost bilateral trade to US$10-$12 billion by 2017, particularly in the border areas.&nbsp;</div>

Myanmar's visa exemption starts on Aug 11

Starting August 11, holders of Thai passports travelling to Myanmar by plane will no longer need visa.
