EC asks CDC to give in power to issue red cards
The Election Commission members met the Constitution Drafting Commission Thursday and asked the CDC to give the election watchdog power to issue red cards against election candidates.
CDC chairman Meechai Ruchupan held a meeting at Parliament to hear opinions of the EC members on how efficiently organise elections.
EC Chairman Supchai Somcharoen told Meechai that the EC should have the same authority with what stated in the 2007 constitution so that it could screen for good politicians to work in Parliament.
Supachai said the EC should have the authority to disqualify candidates both before and after an election.
