Two killed, five injured in bomb attack against rangers

Two ranger volunteers were killed and five others were injured when Muslim insurgents ambushed them with a roadside homemade bomb in Pattani's Sai Buri district Monday morning.

The attack happened at 7:20 am when the unit of seven rangers from the Ranger Taskforce 44 was patrolling a road in Manangdala village in Tambon Manangdala.
The blast hurled their Reva armoured personnel carrier off the road and killed two ranger volunteers. Five other members in the carrier were injured and rushed to the Sai Buri hospital.
Insurgents also detonated another bomb to ambush another team fo troops, which rushed to the scene but no one was injured in the second bomb.
