Prayut threatens to use absolute power against red-shirt protesters

Prime Minister Prayut Chanocha Tuesday threatened to use absolute power under the interim charter's Article 44, as well as enforce state authority against those participating in the campaign to wear red shirts in supporter of former PM Yingluck Shinawatra

Prayut called on people to not violate the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)’s order and his absolute authority under Article 44, as he was now “an established sovereign power”. Prayut also insisted that he would never use his special powers without proper reasons.
He said that people were free to wear any colour they wanted, provided they don’t cause conflicts. However, he added, if anybody was found to be violating regulations, the people and their leaders would certainly be prosecuted.
