5 illegal migrants caught working on fishing trawler
The First Naval Region arrested five undocumented Cambodian migrant workers on a fishing |trawler off Chon Buri’s Koh Chuang.
The Tor 91 coastal patrol boat |captured the “Sor Manachai Wari 3” trawler and its crewmembers at around 9.30pm on Sunday and towed it to the navy’s mid-sea port in Sattahip district.
The trawler’s owner, identified as Lamul Samsi, 60, was summoned yesterday to hear the charges of harbouring illegal migrants and having an illegal migrant control the trawler – a violation of the Fisheries Act 2015, which addresses illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing in Thai waters.
