Teen arrested for killing Mathayom 6 classmate
An 18-year-old schoolboy was arrested in Sa Kaew’s Aranyaprathet district yesterday for allegedly killing his Mathayom 6 classmate, who was a school director’s son, because the victim refused to repay Bt500 for a Yaba pill purchased from him.
The suspect (whose name was withheld due to his age) reportedly confessed that they had a fistfight over the Yaba debt, and then he snatched the victim’s handgun from his waistband and shot him before hitting him with the gun butt to make sure he was dead.
Following the discovery on Tuesday of the victim’s body with two gunshots to the torso and severe head and face wounds, police suspected robbery or a personal conflict as the motive.
Police said one of the victim’s classmates gave confusing and suspicious testimony, which led to a search warrant of his home where they found the murder weapon in his bedroom. The schoolboy then reportedly confessed to attacking the victim.
