Rajabhakti group summoned again

Rajabhakti group summoned again

Three more activists involved in the trip to Rajabhakti Park in Hua Hin last month, were summoned by police yesterday, though six others, including Thammasat University student Sirawith Seritiwat have refused to answer the summons. They claim they have do

In addition to the three summoned, Anon Nampa of the Thai Lawyers for Human Rights and another two individuals reported to the police. At the meeting, Anon denied ever having been involved in any political assembly, adding that he was with the activists on December 7 in the capacity of a lawyer.
He added that all 11 activists would submit a written testimony to the railway police on February 2, adding that they did not violate any orders issued by the National Council of Peace and Order (NCPO).
Meanwhile, police said activists who have refused to answer summons may face arrest warrants as they have already been given two chances.
The young activists have rejected charges of civil disobedience and violating the NCPO's ban on gatherings of five or more people, saying the judicial process under the military-installed regime is illegitimate.
The group also went to the Railway Police Station in Thon Buri yesterday, though Sirawith said he was there not to acknowledge the charges but to refute them.
He said no crime had really been committed because he and his group never made it to the park in Hua Hin.
Also, he said, he would not enter the legal process and would continue making his political moves regardless of whether his friends join him.
