‘DJ Keng’ faces two charges, rival only one

POLICE are set to file charges against former disc jockey Pattarasak "DJ Keng" Tiemprasert and another man in relation to a road rage incident on Friday.

The two men shook hands and apologised to each other in front of the media and onlookers at a Bangkok police station yesterday.
Based on a police study of CCTV footage, sedan driver Kawinkan Sriracha, 32, will be charged with cutting in front of another vehicle at a narrow point of a road. He is facing a maximum fine of Bt1,000.
Pattarasak is facing two charges, Metropolitan Police Area 1 chief Maj-General Wichanwat Borirakkul said after the men were interviewed for about three hours at Din Daeng Police Station.
Those charges are reckless driving with disregard for others’ safety – punishable by up to three months in prison and/or a fine of Bt2,000 to Bt10,000 – and attempted assault, punishable by up to a month in jail and/or a Bt10,000 fine.
Wichanwat said experts had testified that Pattarasak’s reverse crash into Kawinkan’s sedan was not serious enough to warrant an attempted murder charge.
He said that Kawinkan did not want to press a property damage charge against Pattarasak.
Pattarasak’s driver’s licence has been suspended for 60 days.
