Vocational students to repair police vehicles

Vocational students to repair police vehicles

A project to have vocational/technical students repair police cars and motorcycles at various precincts was launched Wednesday in a bid to curb student brawls by engaging students from various colleges in such social service activities.

The collaboration by the Office of Vocational Education Commission (Ovec) and the Metropolitan Police Bureau would also help promote familiarity and friendship among students, sharpen their vocational skills and heighten their schoolwork performance, said acting metropolitan police chief Pol Lt-General Sanit Mahathaworn.
Chanvech Boonpraderm, Ovec deputy secretary-general, said the project would have students from six colleges – such as Min Buri Technical College and Kanchanapisek Vocation Training College Nong Chok – provided car repair and mosquito net installing/repairing services at 12 police stations in the Metropolitan Police Area 7 until January 29. In future they would extend the project to all city police areas, he added.
