Krungsri spreads microfinance biz to Cambodia
Krungsri (Bank of Ayudhya) had reached agreement with “sellers” to acquire 100 per cent of Hattha Kaksekar Ltd (HKL), the fourth-largest microfinance institution in Cambodia.
The acquisition will pave way for its offering of microfinance services in Cambodia, the bank said in a statement.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and fulfilment of certain conditions, including the approval of a Krungsri shareholders’ meeting.
The bank did not name the party or parties selling the Cambodian business.
