Thais warned of cold spell Monday, Tuesday

Residents of the upper part of Thailand were Monday warned to brace themselves for cold spell Monday and Tuesday because of strong high pressure ridge from China.

The Meteorological Department issued a warning Monday morning that the mercury would further drop by two to four Celsius degrees because of the high pressure.
It said strong winds in the North would further cause the people to feel colder.
In its daily forecast, the department said the minimum temperature on mountaintops in the North would range from one to seven C degrees while the minimum temperature on the lowlands would be 8 to 13 Celsius degrees.
Its said the minimum temperatures on the mountaintops in the Northeast would be around one to eight Celsius degrees while the minimum temperatures on the lowlands would be eight to 14 degrees.
It said Bangkok wold see mercury drop to about 17 to 18 Celsius degrees.
