King’s Cup Polo back with more jumbo fun

King’s Cup Polo back with more jumbo fun

King’s Cup Elephant Polo stomps onto the Chao Phraya riverbank next week, promising elephantastic fun for the whole family. Now in its 14th year, the tournament has become one of the biggest charitable events in Southeast Asia with almost US$1 million rai

This year’s event will feature 10 teams encompassing over 40 players including Thai celebrities, professional horse polo players, New Zealand All Blacks rugby players and Thailand’s famous transgender cabaret team Miss Tiffany.
Eighteen elephants will be given a break from their work in tourist trekking camps in Pattaya and Surin to take part in the festival, during which they will be given much needed nutrition, essential vitamin supplements and full veterinary checks. The four-day festival will start with an impressive opening parade featuring the Children Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation, which has rescued over 40 elephants from streets of Thailand.
Tickets at Bt200 apiece can be purchased from Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort or at the venue on the day, with proceeds going to the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation. The event takes place from March 10 to 13 (next Wednesday to Saturday).
