	Twenty four other people were rescued in the accident that occurred late Saturday on a river in Penimbawan town in the eastern state of Sabah, about 1,640 kilometres east of Kuala Lumpur, according to district Fire and Rescue chef Mohamad Asnan Led.</div>

	All six fatalities were women and girls who had attended a wedding celebration, Mohamad Asnan said.</div>

	Search and rescue operations were still being carried out because the number of people in the two boats was unknown.</div>

Six dead in motorboats collision in Malaysia

Kuala Lumpur - At least six people drowned when two motorised passenger boats collided in Borneo in eastern Malaysia, a local fire and rescue official said Sunday.
