Maepranom chilli-paste founder alleges eldest daughter stole company
THE FOUNDER of famous chilli-paste brand Maepranom yesterday alleged her eldest daughter illegally took control of the family business and estate.
Pranom Daengsupha wants the government to intervene to fix what she claims is a grave injustice.
“If it is so easy for her and her husband to steal the business and estate from other family members, damage will be done to Thai society’s ethical and moral standards,” Pranom Daengsupha said as she lodged a petition with the government’s complaint-receiving centre yesterday.
Pranom alleged her eldest daughter illegally took ownership of the Maepranom business and the family’s estate last year through a forged document.
She alleged her other daughter’s name was also removed from Phiboonchai Maepranom Chilli Paste Co Ltd.
“My eldest daughter even chased me out of the family house,” Pranom alleged.
According to her complaint, she has tried to fight her eldest daughter through the legal system, so far without success.
Pranom’s husband passed away in 2013, after which the eldest daughter allegedly forged his letter of attorney and transferred ownership of the company and the family estate to herself.
As of press time, the daughter had not responded to the allegations.
