Armoured truck robbed in Chon Buri

A LONE gunman riding a motorcycle held up two security guards of an armoured vehicle yesterday, stealing Bt10 million in cash, police said.

Pol Maj-General Kittipong Ngaomook, deputy commissioner of the Provincial Police Bureau 2, said the robbery took place in front of a Lotus Express convenience store in Tambon Nong Khang Kok in Chon Buri’s Muang district at 10.30am.
The two security guards, Wutthichai Prakorbsuk, 27, and Banharn Thiangtham, 29, were about to refill a Siam Commercial Bank ATM machine in front of the store when the gunman forced them to hand over five bags filled with banknotes.
The two told police that the man made off with four bags of Bt1,000 notes and one bag of Bt500 notes. He rode a motorcycle that had apparently been modified to serve as a mobile stall selling fresh |produce. 
The robbery took less than two minutes, Wutthichai told police.
On July 31, 2014, an armoured vehicle was robbed of Bt6.6 million in cash in front of the same convenience store. Two robbers were arrested while a third remains at large.
