Watana claims NCPO threatening him

Watana Muangsook, a key Pheu Thai Party member who was recently detained, called on the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) to stop threatening him, referring to the frequent appearance of officers near his residence.

The former commerce minister said that two military officers, including Corporal Veerapong Soisena, had been keeping an eye on him and were seen wandering near his residence since April 14.
The politician, who was released last Thursday from his fourth detention, showed photographs of Veerapong and his commander Lt-Colonel Somporn Tophab in the vicinity of his home.
“The NCPO should stop abusing its authority,” he said. He also accused the NCPO of violating its own Order No 3/2558, which allowed the authorities to summon him for interrogation. Watana said he was not asked anything during his detention, which was a clear violation of the order, though he added he had no new information to share.
