‘Hello English! by NJ Digital’ offers free lessons

The “Hello English! by NJ Digital” programme is now offering free online lessons for anyone interested in improving their English-language skills.

“We came up with this initiative because we want to provide people, teachers and students in particular with practical learning or teaching materials,” Pimpimol Kongkraingkrai, editor of NJ Digital, said last week.
Since May 12, the programme has posted about seven new lessons a week at www.njdigital.net to help students learn and practice their English.
Many Thai students are still unable to communicate in English, even after years of studying this important international language.
Produced by NJ Digital, “Hello English!” presents its contents in a lively, easy-to-understand fashion focusing on current affairs or hot topics.
It uses native speakers to ensure its audience will pick up correct listening and speaking skills.
“We expose our audience to both American and British accents,” she said.
The feedback has been positive. Within weeks, more than 2,000 schools expressed an interest in using Hello English! lessons in their English classes.
Many children have said they enjoy the videos and appreciate the use of native speakers.
“When more than 2,000 schools embraced our programme, it meant our videos are reaching over 800,000 children a week,” she said.
“Aware of this, we now upload new lessons every Thursday so teachers can check them out and prepare their classes before the start of the new week.”
“Hello English!” is expected to eventually reach four out of five schools in the provinces in the future, as Internet coverage is now widespread.
“We are confident that our programme will prove really useful to students upcountry,” she said.
