Standoff continues at Tiger Temple

Standoff continues at Tiger Temple

Kanchanaburi court approved the search warrant to raid “the tiger temple” in order to relocate all 137 tigers, but the officers still cannot enter the monastery because the temple released the tigers to roam free.

Adisorn Noochdumrong, Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation deputy director, revealed that the court has approved the search warrant to the department to enter Wat Pa Luangta Maha Bua Yannasampanno in Kanchanaburi’s Saiyok District.

However, Adisorn said the situation was still unsafe for the officers to enter the temple and start the tiger relocation because the temple still did not get the tigers back to their cages.

There was still no official comment from the temple upon the search warrant, but it was reported earlier that the temple foundation would seek the legal action to object the search warrant.
