Eight Thai women busted in a raid in Malaysia

GEORGE TOWN - The Penang Immigration Department detained eight foreigners including four women in Ops Ikrar that was conducted at three locations around Batu Feringghi and George Town here, Monday.

The JIPP spokesperson said the operation began at 10am on Monday where officers disguised themselves as customers at a canteen of a building at Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah before arresting two Myanmar men who worked there.
Following the arrest, a raid was carried out at an apartment in Batu Feringghi where four Indonesian women and an Indian man who worked as a security guard were detained.
JIPP authorities also inspected a construction site at Batu Feringghi and detained an Indonesian man, in his 30s, for not having any travel documents," he said.
Meanwhile, in Alor Setar, 13 foreign women were detained by the Kedah Immigration in Ops Ikrar' at two premises in Taman Tuanku Haminah, Sungai Petani, early Tuesday morning.
Kedah Immigration Department Enforcement Division chief Mohd Shahrir Khalil said the foreigners who worked as Guest Relations Officers comprised eight Thai women, three Vietnamese women, one Myanmar woman and one woman from Laos were arrested during a raid conducted at 12.30am.
Those detained were taken to the state immigration office prison in Alor Star for further investigation.
