Employers today are willing to offer good pay to capable job candidates, particularly as Thailand is pursuing a new economic model, says leading recruitment agency, JobsDB (Thailand).

As a result, working people should develop their potential and constantly improve their skills.
“Both the highest-in-demand careers and the highest-paid careers need people who are specialised in their fields,” the firm’s managing director Noppawan Chulakanista, said this week.
JobsDB has surveyed the market needs and salaries using information from more than 40,000 firms across Thailand.
The top three jobs in demand are: For junior level or people who have up to two years’ experience: 1) Sales, customer service and business development; 2) Admin and human resources; and 3) Engineering.
For supervisor level or people who have had three to five years of work experience: 1) Sales, customer service and business development; 2) Accounting 3) Engineering.
For manager level and up, most demand is from: 1) Sales, customer service and business development, 2) Accounting 3) Marketing and public relations.
Best-paid occupational fields are: 1) Telecom with salaries starting from Bt28,000; 2) Professional services (Bt22,000); 3) IT (Bt21,000) for junior level. The intermediate level is: 1) Telecom, 2) Banking and finance, 3) Professional service.
For supervisory level, the highest paid careers are: 1) Professional service; 2) Insurance, 3) Accounting.
Finally, for manager levels and up, they are: 1) Property, 2) Science, Lab and R&D; 3) Transportation and logistics.
“We want to help working people recognise opportunities in their career field and prepare themselves well through skill development and efficiency enhancement,” Noppawan said about the decision to reveal the findings.
She also pointed out that the country was now pursuing the Thailand 4.0 model, a value-based and innovation-driven economy. She said Thais therefore would need to develop their potential further in order to be able to respond to the needs of industries and keep pace with next-generation technologies.
