Drunk driver investigated over alleged rape attempt
The Royal Forestry Department will launch a probe into an allegation that one of its drivers tried to rape a forestry research official during a field trip upcountry earlier this year.
Speaking on FM 98.5 Spring Radio Thursday, RFD chief Chonlathit Surasawadee said the alleged incident happened in Saraburi and occurred after the driver got drunk and attacked the woman in a room where they slept.
The woman called for help and escaped, Chonlathit said.
He said this case would be probed as per the civil service procedures and it could serve as a cautionary tale that led to safety improvements.
