Banyin father of Uracha’s child, DNA tests reveal

DNA tests show that former stockbroker Uracha Wachirakulton’s three-month-old toddler was fathered by Pol Lt-Colonel Banyin Tangpakorn, a key suspect in the murder conspiracy of billionaire Chuwong Saetang.

Previously, Uracha denied having close ties with Banyin, but investigators found that there was a genetic link between them and the child based on DNA tests conducted on the toddler’s belongings. The evidence was taken from Uracha’s home on Rama 9 Road.
According to police, Banyin and Uracha may have got intimate in around June 2015, based on the baby’s age. On June 26 the same year, billionaire Chuwong was killed when the car driven by Banyin slammed into a tree in Bangkok’s Prawet district. Banyin has insisted the tycoon’s death was accidental.
Later, the billionaire’s relatives asked police to investigate the dubious transfer of stocks worth several million baht to Uracha and another woman.
Police are also reviewing a previous case in which Banyin’s former wife Rossarin Srinukul was also killed in a car accident, with Banyin claiming that his wife was at the wheel. However, other witnesses told police that Rossarin could not drive.
