Banyin, three others set to be indicted

PUBLIC prosecutors have decided to indict former deputy commerce minister Banyin Tangpakorn and three women for falsifying official documents and theft involving the late billionaire Chuwong Saetang’s Bt260-million share-transfer scandal, an informed sour

The prosecutors had tasked police with gathering additional evidence, and also interview more witnesses in regard to the case against Banyin, former stockbroker Uracha Wachirakulton, Uracha’s mother Srithana Phromma, and another woman named Kanthana Siwathanapol.
Police had submitted the requested information last month, the source said.
The prosecutors decided to indict the four suspects and were in the process of issuing related documents, the source said, adding that once the indictment was formally filed, police would summon the four to meet the prosecutor. If the four failed to show up, police would proceed to seek arrest warrants, the source added.
Construction tycoon Chuwong, 50, was found dead in the front passenger seat of a car driven by Banyin that hit a tree beside the road in Prawet district in Bangkok on June 26, 2015.
Chuwong’s relatives complained that the death was suspicious, as shares had been transferred just days before his death to Kanthana and Uracha (who then transferred some to her mother).
Banyin has already been charged with murdering Chuwong and is currently on bail with the court ordering him not to leave the country.
