Chanvech said the judge initially sentenced the guardians of the two teenagers to six months in jail and a fine of Bt60,000 on the charge of being an accessory (coercing, instigating, or aiding) of a student who violated Article 64 of the 2003 Child Protection Act (students must adhere to school and Education Ministry regulations), causing fights in which they attacked others. The sentences were halved because of useful confessions before the court, and their jail terms suspended for two years.
