Cleaner murdered in Bangkok knife attack
A man stabbed a cleaner to death at an office building in Bangkok yesterday in what police suspect was the result of a personal conflict.
The victim, 35, sustained several wounds to her body.
Police will seek an arrest warrant for an unnamed 40-year-old male suspect caught on security cameras at the scene.
Huai Khwang Police deputy superintendent Lt-Colonel Supachai Harnkhamkla inspected the scene of the murder after receiving a report on the attack at about 12.30pm.
A security camera did not capture the attack and police suspect the killer turned the camera upwards before carrying out the attack.
Metropolitan Police Bureau acting chief Lt-General Sanit Mahathavorn said police believed the attack was not related to a robbery because nothing was stolen from the victim.
“We are investigating further. It’s very likely a personal conflict,” he said.
An informed source said police would seek an arrest warrant for the suspect.
