Bomb attacks hit seven provinces in three days, killing four people and injuring 32 others.

August 10
At 6.30pm, officials responded to a tip and discovered two small explosive devices, one at the Paradise Market and the other at China Town Market, in Phuket’s Kathu district. The bombs were defused. An investigation is focusing on two male suspects.

August 11
At 3pm, an improvised bomb went off at the Centre Point market in Trang’s Muang district, causing one death and injuring seven other people.
At 10.15pm, an explosion hit Johnny Bar in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Hua Hin district, injuring one person.
At 11pm, a second bomb hit Rain Tree Spa – just 50 metres away from the first site – killing one person and injuring 20 others. Many of the victims were foreigners.

August 12
At 7.45am, a bomb blast occurred at Loma Park in Phuket’s Patong district, causing minor injuries to one person.
At 8am, a bomb was detonated in front of a Marine Police station in Surat Thani’s Muang district, killing one person and injuring three others.
At 8.30am, a bomb went off in front of an old police-station building in Surat Thani’s Muang district. There were no casualties.
At 8.45am, a blast rocked a traffic-control unit in Phuket’s Kathu district.
At 9am, two bombs went off almost simultaneously at the Hua Hin Clock Tower, killing one person and injuring three others.
Also at 9am, two blasts struck the popular Bang Niang Market in Phang Nga’s Takua Pa district. There were no casualties.

Suspicious fires also hit four southern provinces Friday.

At 2am, a big fire engulfed Lee Mart in Trang’s Muang district, causing about Bt100 million in damage.
A 2.15am, a blaze raged through more than 80 shops in a tourist zone of Phang Nga.
At 3.15am, a fire erupted in Krabi’s Ao Nang area, causing damage to five shops.
At dawn, a small fire occurred inside a Tesco-Lotus branch in Nakhon Si Thammarat.
