	The season&#39;s seventh typhoon is expected to bring strong winds and torrential rains to eastern Japan later in the day and to the north-east early Wednesday, according to the Japan Meteorological Agency.</div>

	As of noon (0300 GMT), the typhoon was 190 kilometres east-south-east of Hachijo Island, travelling north-north-west at 25 kilometres per hour (kph), with maximum sustained winds of 72 kph and gusts of 108kph, the agency said.</div>

	Rainfall of up to 250 millimetres was forecast for the Kanto region and the north-east and up to 150 millimetres for the northern island of Hokkaido by Wednesday noon, the agency said.</div>
