Ex-minister’s assets frozen in tycoon murder case

Ex-minister’s assets frozen in tycoon murder case

The Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) has frozen some assets of high-profile murder suspect Pol Lt-Colonel Banyin Tangpakorn, who allegedly embezzled hundreds of millions of baht from a now-dead friend via share manipulation.

Imposed on August 10, the assets will be frozen for no more than 90 days.
Under the law, Banyin can petition against the freezing of his assets by submitting evidence to AMLO on how it caused damages to him within 30 days after the order was promulgated in the Royal Gazette.
Banyin – a former deputy commerce minister – is now facing several charges related to the death and share deals of late construction tycoon, Chuwong Saetang.
