Police search five firms suspected of running illegal tour business

Armed with search warrants, a 50-strong team of police officers raided five companies in Bangkok’s Lat Krabang area. It is believed that these firms were allegedly providing illegal Chinese tour guide services or may be linked to foreign nominee tour busi

The operation was led by Tourism Police Division chief Pol Maj-General Surachet Hakpan, his deputy Pol Colonel Achayon Kraithong and Tourism Department deputy chief Sutham Dechdi.
The businesses – Royal Gems International Co Ltd, Bangkok Handicraft Centre Co Ltd, OA Transport Co Ltd, Royal Thai Herb Co Ltd and Royal Paradise Co Ltd – are believed to be part of the same network and are located on Luang Phaeng Road in Bangkok’s Khum Thong sub-district.
Since initial search did not show any illegal operations, the officers took away documents for further investigation.
Royal Gems executive Chatchai Rojrungrangsi, who cooperated with the officers, insisted that the company’s business was legal and was recognised internationally.
