Thailand's Zika virus patients rises by 20 folds this year
The number of Thailand’s Zika virus patients has already jumped by about 20 folds this year, Disease Control Department’s director general Dr Amnuay Gajeena said Tuesday.
Between 2012 and 2015, just five people were infected with Zika virus annually on average but during the first six months of this year, at least 96 people have already come down with the disease on Thai soi, he said.
During the past week, new infections have been detected in Chiang Mai, Chanthaburi, Phetchabun and Beung Kan provinces.
